They can’t designate him miles….

Well, when all's said and done...
…Hendry managed to stick a division rival with the rest of Miles’ salary. So, kinda like the Milton trade, things turned out relatively well from a financial perspective. Still one of his more regrettable signings.
But the Reds traded a (worse??) player to get Miles
So they actually saved money by getting rid of Tavares.
What am I suppose to do with my Aaron miles signed ball
I got from the cubs convention grab bag? I was going to throw I back to him when they visit.

Time for MadLibs...
I noticed that (the Cincinnati Reds) just (Designated for Assignment) (Aaron Miles). While it may be true that he (is past his prime/never really was very good) and (has no real value when totally healthy and wasn’t very good on his previous go-round), I’m thinking Jim Hendry ought to consider (re)signing this guy.
After all, he (had a couple good years with the Rockies and Cardinals/looks great in a uniform, or did a couple years back) and could be (a valuable switch hitter off the bench) and (provide more options for Lou).

So glad this was finally put to good use...
Tim is finally paying some dividends around here ;-)
What is a horse shoe? What does a horse shoe do? Are there any horse socks? Is anybody listening to me?
That means a scrappy player is available
Can he bat left handed? No. He can’t hit at all.
And the eighth and final rule: if this is your first time at Fight Club, you have to fight.
I find it very interesting...
…that Walt Joketty made this move in the first place! At least he had the stones to just cut his losses once he gave the guy a shot… Honestly, I’m surprised he even gave him a month in ST.
No offense to Aaron, and I wish him the best, but it was over for him 12 months ago.

Walt
has a history with Miles from his Cardinal days so he probably has a soft spot in his heart for the guy. He did help Walt win a WS in 06 so I imagine that was the motivation. Give him a flyer as a thank-you and release him if it did not work out.
