The Bane of Being a Cub Fan
Two more examples of what people think of the Cubs. In last night's episode of "How I Met Your Mother", they illustrated people that had baggage in their life by showing actual luggage or crates with STILL LIVES AT HOME or LEFT AT THE ALTER written on them. Of course the final scene had someone with a CUBS FAN bag. The other thing is for readers of Tank McNamara. They are after Wrigley Field and their money generating ideas again. Funny, but I am getting tired of the Cubs and their management being the joke all the time

I was looking around online for a screen cap to post here
I was watching the episode with my girlfriend last night and when it got to that scene she pointed it out to me. Meh….it’s an easy joke, but what are you gonna do? Until they win it all the jokes will continue.
Quite frankly, I’m not entirely certain that they would end even when they do win it all.

Many times there are CUBS FANS in Hollywood
who insert these things into scripts, so take that into consideration. It’s not always an insult. Let’s face it, you don’t see any Pittsburgh Pirate or Detroit Lions jokes. The Cubs joke is an easy call, and it’s not always somebody who doesn’t like the Cubs writing the material. There are so many Chicagoans in the entertainment industry, you might be surprised.
In the sports media though, such material can usually can be interpreted as an insult.

I admit after 102 years we do have some baggage
Just look at the comments on most of the posts on BCB!
It's only a Bane if you let it be
As Paul Sullivan said yesterday “Being a Cub fans is not so tough. Try being a Maple Leafs fan, or a Clippers fan, or a Lions fan. Everything’s relative.”
"They come to see me strike out, hit a home run, or run into a fence. I try to accommodate them at least one way every game." - Gorman Thomas
Well, the Blackhawks Stanley Cup drought
is still 6 years longer than the Leafs, so not much sympathy there. However, at least the Cubs ownership is not a pension fund. The stewardship of Tribco was better than this teachers’ pension fund that operates the Maple Leafs.
