Maybe I'm jumping the gun here (obviously so).  Al, maybe this should go under another thread but I felt like this was a somewhat fresh topic.

So, if JH does end up pulling the plug on what we had all hoped would be a Pinella lead Cubs WS, who would be a possible replacement?  Would they go the route of the "interim" or would they go ahead and hire?  I've always hated interims because it sounds like throwing in the towel and waiting for a fresh start next year with a new guy.  It's too early to quit on this year.  Neither am I a fan of the interim status and giving them a chance to "earn" the job.  If they're good enough to be interim then they should be named.  If not, then you shouldn't fire the head man until you find a suitable replacement.

I assume Sandberg would be mentioned, but is he ready?  others????  enlighten me please.
