Stephen Strasburg is set to make his major league debut June eighth in a home game against the Pittsburgh Pirates. "He will be limited to six inning and about 95 pitches," says GM Mike Rizzo. He will make his final start for AAA Syracuse on Thursday.

The way they are playing...

… and if Strasburg is as good as he appears to be, that might be a good deal.

Hm, not sure I'm comfortable with that.

Kinda feels like a shakedown.

I looked at the offer.

You’re not limited to any specific games — the entire rest of the schedule is offered. I chose the 6/8 game and two games in the Cubs series in August (no, I’m not going, this is just for the exercise of doing it).

You get one free game in addition to the games you pay for. I got decent lower level tickets for all three games including the 6/8 game — I asked for two tickets per game. The total price including fees was $302.50 — that’s eight tickets (the six you pay for and the two free ones), or $37.81 per ticket.

And you get a free Nationals cap. It’s really not a bad deal if you live in DC.

That's actually a really nice deal.

However, it’s the premise behind it—the fact that you have to spend $300+ to see the debut—that is a bit smarmy.

Yeah, I guess.

You don’t have to spend $300 — I put in “best available”. There are cheaper tickets that would probably cost you less than 1/3 of that price.
