Apathy for the Underachievers

Our 2010 Cubs

I attended the Brewers game yesterday and walked out with the score tied 4-4 after 9. Not even interested in these guys anymore the way they played. Today, another beatdown. At the hands of the hated Sox, who I used to work myself into a lather at the games dying so much to win. Now I watch with a dazed look on my face.

This is an overpaid, underachieving group of players and Hendry desperately needs to do something to change things. Its either full born sell mode or its a mangerial change or  a trade. "Shoot a hostage time".

We have some strengths and the Cashner-Castro-Colvin influx is a good start. We still  have decent starting pitching now that hopefully Lou will stop the Wells project and re insert Gorzo back into the 5 man staff. The bullpen has been stabilized.

I think you do move Lee now and put Nady at 1B and see what he can do over the season. Lee isnt producing anyway and with the somewhat of a  bounty of talent the Cubs could possibly acquire, they could keep their pitching and maybe get a good young power bat. Preferably a 3B or top notch 2B because its time for Ramirez to go as well. If Ramirez can regain his stroke after the DL stint he will have more value at the deadline. Would like to see some speed on this team for once as well.

Ramirez has been a good Cub but I reflect more on his postseason failures and feel its time to change the chemistry away from the Lee-Ramirez- Zambrano era and start afresh with some new blood.  There is no hope with this roster. I only wish someone could take Fukodome out of here as well. Complete mediocrity we are stuck with at a huge price tag. It would be worth it to pay someone half of his remaining salary to clear him out so Colvin can play every day.

The worst thing that can happen to a fan base, and thats apathy. I dont care. I just want some new players here to root for and to see something different on that field because some of these guys are just stealing money.

Something major needs to go down now as this is a disaster in the makings.
