Look, What Am I Supposed To Do???

Lead this team to the playoffs Lou. That's what you're supposed to do. Saying that you've tried everything is not true. For starters, you haven't benched Derrek Lee. He's made more errors in a week than he would in a month. Start starting Nady at 1st, that way, Colvin and Fukudome could play more in the outfield. Starlin Castro has not rested one inning since he's been called to the Majors. And one  more thing, you haven't started lefty hitters against a lefty pitcher. Maybe it would do well to start them sometimes. Oh yeah, it would be nice to pick a lineup and stick with it. You don't get immediate results in a day. Here's mine recommended lineup.

1.Tyler Colvin-RF- Has speed, hits for power, would set the table quite nicely for the meat of the order. Plus, he's a power lefty.

2. Mike Fontenot-2B-Guy is a lefty, has some pop, and unlike Theriot, he's been hitting this year.

3. Geovany Soto-C- I don't get why Lou starts Hill over him. Geo's been patient at the plate, and he could get on base. Why put him in the 8th spot, so he can get stranded by the pitcher??

4. Xavier Nady-1B- I'm tired to see Lee constantly strikeout with men on base. Nady has been hitting when he has started. He's been getting the job done when called upon.

5. Marlon Byrd-CF-He hasn't been very good with men on scoring position, but he hits for power.

6. Alfonso Soriano-LF-Keep him there.

7. Starlin Castro-SS- Still trying to learn the game. Keep him in the 7th hole

8. Chad Tracy-3B- Been better at defense than Baker, but I hope that Ramirez returns healthy and well.

9. Pitcher (Zambrano tomorrow)

Lou, take some notes from the Angels tomorrow. Play like it's an elimination game everyday starting tomorrow. There's so much potential with this team, I don't know how they're 8 games under .500. It's unacceptable. So start winning now. Or consider it a lost season in one week.

When did you

decide to retire? Will there be a dinner with speeches. Anyway, best of luck Al.

If a quality pitching start is 3 runs and 6 innings, then a quality hitting day is 1 for 4.

LOL

Not ME. LOU needs to retire.

Maybe it'll make you feel better, Al,

but it won’t make the team better. Bruce Kimm, anyone?

And please, don’t retire. If you do, where will we all go to vent?

I guess I'll have to

eat your retirement cake with Houston fans now.

Welcome back Al. We would have missed your nostalgic memories.

Who was your interim blog manager Lou?

Pretty shady to do that while Ricketts was in Africa, being able to name whomever you want. Let us know before you retire next time , would you?

It won't make this team much better

In other words, it won’t likely put this team in serious playoff contention.

OK, though let’s say Lou retires. Then what? We let Trammel finish out the season? There’s no I’m-so-lucky-to-be-here Bruce Kimm to eventually send to the guillotine.

I guess I don’t know the bridge component for the remaining 90+ games. Would you put Ryno in charge of this mess?

Look, this is frustrating to everyone, especially those of us who are life-long sufferers. Cutting bait with the guy who’s basically given up is a start. But what about the players who are not producing? Trammel gonna bench Lee and keep Rami on the bench after he comes off the DL? Colvin gonna get 4-5 starts a week w/o any days off to Byrd?

I guess I just don’t know what else is going to be done the rest of this season should Lou bolt.

Just win the next game...!

What I'm supposed to do is

1. Not bother putting on the rest of the game when I forget it’s a 12pm Fox start time and a quick check of cubs.mlb.com shows that it’s already 6-0.

2. Not worry about wins and losses until the team is back to two games under 500. I only care about how guys who will be on the 2012 roster are doing, like Castro, Soto, Colvin and Marmol.

3. Start making travel plans for mid October for someplace with better golf than baseball.

4. Not get my blood pressure up by reading game threads.

It’s not as bad as 2006, when I refused to partake of any Tribune-owned media from about Memorial Day until Dusty was fired… only watched the team when it was on FOX or ESPN, didn’t read the Tribune or even go to the Tribune web site, didn’t watch or listen to WGN TV/Radio.

But it’s getting close. I’m going to see the team live in Seattle this week. If they are as bad in person as they’ve been on TV, I may be done with them until somebody gets traded or fired.

It's a simple question, Doctor: would you eat the moon if it were made of ribs??
