I thought I would try something to parallel Josh's posts on the minor league prospects. While some here feel the Cubs can get back to playoff contention in 2011, others think it will take until at least 2012. By then, several of the contracts will have expired, and several youngsters might be contributing every day. The premise of the poll is to get the group wisdom on which players will be most likely to NOT be a part of a Cubs team in 2012.
Some players are obvious. That's why I planned to drop five players with the most votes from the initial poll. So far, the players you ranked as most likely to NOT be a Cub in 2012 are:
-
I think Lilly may be the most surprising out of this group. This polling thing is not perfect. It would be better if you could vote for multiple players.
Please vote again. I am going to drop the top 3 vote-getters from this poll. Please discuss your reasons why a player will not be with the Cubs in 2012: contract, performance, traded, etc. If you like, you can look at how other people have voted (click on "Results") before voting yourself. Again, this won't go on indefinitely, but I hope it will provide some interest for the next week or so.
