My first! She has only been home for the last two games, which she has “watched” with me (and my wife), and she has been quite the good luck charm. In fact, after the first game, I video taped us dancing together to “Go Cubs Go”, and I took a picture of her in front of the W flag being held up…and it somehow looks like she is holding it. Pretty cool.

Nice to know that Ryan can’t give a young rookie advice or even talk to him because people at BCB don’t like him. What is this? Russia? It doesn’t matter how good Ryan actually is here. I take time to point out Starlin’s flaws and they get written off as rookie mistakes. Apparently the guy could have used time in AAA and not go straight from AA to the majors without paying his dues.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but Theriot is here to stay, and will be the cornerstone of the rebuilt Cubs. The Cubs tried to trade him, and got no takers. He wasn’t even worth a few used jock straps. You will have to see his ugly face every time a reporter is in the vicinity. The Cubs have played him every day for almost a month to showcase him, but it backfired. His performance tonight was actually one of his best. Lou thinks of him as good luck because he commits 4 times as many errors as he is charged with, and other players who are on base get caught stealing when he fails to execute the hit and run. He thinks this will rub off on the team because he causes the mishaps, but walks away unscathed.
