At least the Cubs don't have the entire monopoly on idiot players

How weak

Can’t even do the pie-in-the-face without a DL stint. That will keep him off any championship caliber team. The Marlins were at home. All you to do is wait for the guy to do the post-game interview and then hitting with the shaving cream pie.

I know I shouldn’t speak of this. Someone is bound to jump on me and say that I don’t have any pie-in-the-face experience and that there is no way I could relate to a professional baseball player.

tearing a ligament in the knee

is something that can happen to people just walking down the street…I think it was more of an unlucky thing than actual physical injury

The point is that it was a stupid act that got him hurt.....

Would he be on the DL if he had chosen to not smash a pie in someones face?

I don’t think so!

and how often does a pie in the face

result in injury – so should he not go out dancing in the middle of the season? This happened to Garza without incident last night

It happens without incident most of the season.

TJ is crazy. It was a freak injury…not the pie. Come on. That’s the player’s fault….he wasn’t playing running back on the side.

well if I ever see him

I am going to smash a pie in his face just to prove that I wont get hurt

I'm completely with you here.

Someone always seems to think a freak injury should have been avoided and the team is suddenly at fault. He could have had this happen bagging groceries, walking up the stairs at home, jumping out of the dugout, or falling over his handlebars riding his bike. This isn’t a problem with shaving pies, its just someone being stupid. I read in yahoo sports a few people talking about how celebrations should end now…and that’s ridiculous. He did something stupid and unlucky. But it wasn’t risky.

Yeah

It’s not like he was running with scissors. He wasn’t running with scissors was he? I think the team should outlaws scissors in the clubhouse. Except for the clubhouse attendant of course. As long as he’s attended 16 hours of written and hands-on scissor handling instruction and testing.

Tough break for a nice kid

Coghlan played in Danville in the CICL when he was still in college. He was a nice down to earth kid. Hopefully he recovers well from this.

As if we needed another reason, but

can we finally retire the shaving cream pie thing? It’s beyond stupid.
