Next weekend, the Reds will come to Wrigley. In the last two years, the Reds have dissed the Cubs in the press, most notably Joey Votto refusing to shake hands with Byrd at the all-star game and later making negative comment regarding Cub fans. Here is hoping that Ted Lilly is around to drill Votto in the ribs sometime (Saturday) next weekend.
I encourage all Cub fans to show their disdane for Votto by greeting him at each at-bat with a hearty Chicago welcome - and maybe the bleacher bums can welcome him in the outfield with the exuberance normally exhibited between the right and left field bleachers.
I am not sure what has disturbed the Reds (including Tom Brennaman) over the past two years, but the Cub fans need to step up and put them in their place next weekend.
