Ex-Cub Watch: Milton Bradley To Have Knee Surgery
Looks like both the Cubs and Mariners will wind up with expensive players on the DL for extended periods from last winter's trade.

I hold nothing against him anymore
I wish him a speedy recovery.
RIP Ronnie James Dio (July 10, 1942 - May 16, 2010).
Who's he blaming it on?
Ron Santo - 8,143 ABs, .277 BA; 342 HR; 1331 RBI = NO Hall of Fame?
Brooks Robinson - 10,654 ABs, .267 BA; 268 HR; 1357 RBI = Hall of Fame.
Any more questions ?
Shame
Bradley’s knee has joined the conspiracy against him.

Except the Seattle GM who made their dumb signing was fired long ago
as for the Cubs well……
John Grabow: $4.8 million in 2011.

You could always put tape over "BRADLEY" on the back and write "COLVIN" on the tape.

I remember putting a piece of tape over my Prior shirt
And writing HART on it.

I've very seriously considered doing that with my Bradley jersey.
Todd Hollandsworth; "So, Starlin, do you like hitting in the two-hole?"
Starlin Castro; "Yeah, I hit second."

Wow. His numbers this year are amazingly bad.
Seventy-five strikeouts in 244 at-bats?!
He never was a very good player.
Had 500 or more PA twice — couldn’t stay in the lineup.
Apart from his walk year in Texas, he never led his league in anything, or even came close.

And yet, we gave him $30 million.
That was always the strangest part of that signing.
There was no sense at all to that signing.
None whatsoever.

Nah..I thought you supported it for some reason. Maybe I'm thinking of something else.
I’ll take your word for it.
A-well-a Byrd, Byrd, Byrd, well the Byrd is the word.
I supported it at first.
I figured MB would be cheaper than Abreu (ha!) and that MB was younger and coming off a season in which he was relatively well-behaved. I was also against Adam Dunn, because Dunn playing right in Wrigley would have been horrific.
Once the deal was announced, I was kinda stunned. Giving MB anything more than two years — hell, maybe one with an option should have been the limit — was a terrible idea. As Al said in a previous comment, MB’s numbers pre-2008 were never THAT good, and he almost never stayed healthy.
It was a bad idea to sign MB. But the years and the dollars made the contract a monumentally terrible contract.
While they're fixing his knee
Do you think they’ll remove that giant chip off his shoulder?
I bet all that extra weight from it was what blew out his knee
