I will preface by saying I have never played nor coached in the majors
but back when I played ball the first base coach mainly just passed on info. How many outs, how quick the pitchers’ pick off move was, and stuff to help make the right base running decisions depending what signs the third base coach gives and what the batter at the plate does.
