Official: Strasburg to have Tommy John Surgery on Friday
What a shame. He was suppose to be the face of the Washington Nationals, but that might have to wait a while (or never come). He's the true pitching stud the Nationals needed, and now he won't throw another pitch until 2012 at the earliest.
He now joins the crowd of Fransisco Liriano and Kerry Wood.

I think this will turn the tables on "top of the line" starting pitchers in the draft...
getting those BIG $$$$$$$. Also…another reason why Tommy John should be in the HoF.
Joe Girardi...2011 Chicago Cubs Manager...Book it!!
I think this proves
That being a power pitcher isn’t necessarily the best style. Sure you’ll rack up the strikeouts, but it just has to be damaging on the arm. That’s why pitchers like Maddux, Wakefield, Glavine, and Moyer never really were injured: they relied on strategy and fooling the batter, as opposed to just hurling the ball past them.
Viva la Cubs Révolution!!!

I think TJ is.
It was funny to hear your beloved ESPN talking about Strasburg and modern pitch count coddling in orgnizations now, had some guy on their radio network saying how the year of the pitcher was because of the way they are treated coming through the minors system and how they are gradually introduced to the bigs…succeeding in ways previous pitchers wouldn’t because they were overused once they got here.
Went on and on for hours telling everyone how STRASBURG would be a guaranteed star and wouldn’t be hurt because they were sooooo careful with him, shut him down before he could hurt his arm with being pitched too much. Now Strasburg doesn’t mean by himself it was all bogus, but he sure wasn’t a good example. ESPN should just call themselves TMZ and avoid confusion.
