Boston 1B Youkilis Out for Season
He'd been having a really good year. Out with season-ending surgery on torn muscle in right thumb.

The Cubs should see what they can get for Derrek Lee. I think they could pry some good prospects from the Red Sox, like Michael Bowden.

And Derrek would waive his 10-and-5 rights because...?

Well, Boston has a better shot at the playoffs than the Angels
but I bet this is just a 10-second phone call between Hendry and Derrek’s agent.
“Hi, this is Jim Hendry.”
“He said no, Jim.”
“Okay, bye.”
Somebody take Aramis' bat off the restricted list, please.
It was a joke.

The only reason I checked out the comments here
is to see if there any trade DLee to the BoSox posts.
I always turn to the sports section first. The sports page records people's accomplishments; the front page has nothing but man's failures.

The way Youk
does that sliding his hand down the bat thing, I wonder if that is how he hurt his thumb.
I almost never say this, but I never liked this guy. He’s a good ballplayer, I know, but I call him “Youk-face”.
Would never wish anyone to get hurt, though. Might wish for him to go 0 for 20, but that’s about it.
Derrek Lee could help them...wait a minute....that's right he does not want to be in a playoff chase!
Stay here where its comfy Lee!
Hope you are batting third on Friday! I know Lou will come through for me!
It was a little closer at the time....
Think he would waive it to go to Boston?
They are much closer…..Or does he still choose to remain non-competetive?
The Red Sox 1B "acquisition" is Mike Lowell.
Who immediately homered in his first AB.
