Soto to have surgery Monday
While you all were watching football and the Cubs were walking around Miami, it was announced via Gordon Wittenmyer's Twitter account that Geovany Soto is going to undergo arthroscopic surgery tomorrow on his shoulder. The follow-up tweet reads:
"Shoulder's been bothering him much of season. Doing it now puts him on track for full health Jan. 1."

Shoulders are risky...
…you have to hope this doesn’t force him to move out of the catchers role in the next couple of years.

Surgery was successful.
Geovany Soto underwent successful right shoulder arthroscopy Monday to address pain in the AC joint. The procedure, which took one hour, was done at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago by team orthopedic specialist, Dr. Stephen Gryzlo. Soto was sent home after the procedure and expected at Wrigley Field this week for the Cubs’ final homestand.
The catcher will take three months to rehab and was expected to resume baseball activities by Jan. 1.

When was the last time...
…you heard a surgery was not successful?
When you go messing around in the shoulder, you just never know how a guy will respond until time passes. I’m sure he has a good chance to come back healthy and I hope he holds together.
