justice is served

I think how many peoples lives this has affected, it’s just such a sad story.

you're probably right, but it does sound fair for the 3 young lives lost because of him

I try to put muself in the parent’s shoes, both his and the victims, it just seems like such a devestating situation all the way around. it’s hard to even think about this

I have no compassion

for this man. He had a previous DUI, enough. 50 years seems like a fair sentence.

I read this and did a little research on the lone survivor

Apparently, he is doing well. This article is almost a year old, but it certainly points to a strong recovery if not a 100 % full recovery.

Glad to hear that, at least.

I saw a piece on TV about the survivor,.

who prior to the crash was a healthy, athletic young man. He appeared very devastated, physically, by the crash. Terribly sad.

And yet

Braylon Edwards misses only one quarter.

I’m completely in favor of the ruling. Perhaps some may see it as overly punitive, but speaking as somebody who has lost family members to a drunk driver, I have no compassion.

Braylon Edwards has yet to stand trial

It was also, AFAIK, his first DUI arrest and no one was injured. It’s an emotional issue, but I hope you can realize the difference between a serial offender who killed people and an idiot that got pulled for swerving.

An idiot

with a BAC TWICE the legal limit. Just “swerving” was what Adenhart’s killer was doing right up until the minute he plowed into the car. What I’m trying to point out is that it sends a major double-standard when time and again we see examples of celebrities getting away with a slap on the wrist.

If a celebrity did what this guy did...

… there’s no way that celebrity would get any less than this guy got.

CA courts make it CRYSTAL clear...

…when you’re sentenced for DUI that you will face murder charges if you continue to drive drunk — You have to sign paperwork that says exactly that. I don’t feel sorry for him at all! If you can’t learn your lesson from the 1st DUI, you never will.
