Good job Wells.

Game is flying by today. Maybe not surprising for two teams in the second division in September.

Heck I'm with Randy getting runs scored off him,

especially in the first inning…but what’s with the Cubs scoring runs today? Something weird going on here…

Yeah.

He probably can’t right now but it seems criminal at this point in the season to keep Colvin on the bench.

by Sandberg's evil twin on Sep 3, 2010 2:48 PM CDT up reply actions

I agree.

Starting Kosuke now to increase his trade value makes some sense. And Colvin barely plays a passable center and apparently can’t play first.

But why the Cubs can’t rotate Soriano, Colvin and Kosuke is beyond me.

by elgato on Sep 3, 2010 2:51 PM CDT up reply actions

I understand part of the reasoning.

Kosuke is hitting well — which is good for the team now and for possibly dumping the contract. Colvin doesn’t play a great center, so Byrd gets starts. And Soriano, well, I don’t know why Colvin doesn’t get some starts instead of Soriano.

by elgato on Sep 3, 2010 2:44 PM CDT up reply actions

I mean, Soriano hit a 3-run jack.

I’m not saying Soriano should be benched. But if Colvin plays, he almost never starts in left. Certainly, not lately.

by elgato on Sep 3, 2010 2:49 PM CDT up reply actions

I am.

Soriano isn’t having a terrible season. But I don’t know why he can’s sit occasionally if it means more time for Colvin.

by elgato on Sep 3, 2010 2:54 PM CDT up reply actions

You could ask that question many times during the season.

The answer is blowing in the wind…past his glove.
