Good job Wells.

Heck I'm with Randy getting runs scored off him,
especially in the first inning…but what’s with the Cubs scoring runs today? Something weird going on here…

I really don't think the Cubs would have been very watchable for most of this summer ...
if not for Starlin Castro. Defensive issues and all.
Agreed
Otherwise, this would be exactly like 2006 (lots of playing time for guys like Neifi, Phil Nevin, John Mabry, Freddie Bynum, etc.)

by Sandberg's evil twin on Sep 3, 2010 2:48 PM CDT up reply actions
I understand part of the reasoning.
Kosuke is hitting well — which is good for the team now and for possibly dumping the contract. Colvin doesn’t play a great center, so Byrd gets starts. And Soriano, well, I don’t know why Colvin doesn’t get some starts instead of Soriano.
Is Sori +1 on the day, or even with that botch in LF?
by The Deputy Mayor of Rush Street on Sep 3, 2010 2:48 PM CDT up reply actions
I mean, Soriano hit a 3-run jack.
I’m not saying Soriano should be benched. But if Colvin plays, he almost never starts in left. Certainly, not lately.
You could ask that question many times during the season.
The answer is blowing in the wind…past his glove.
