Looking forward to this weekend.

My third “time-marking point” off the offseason is almost here. Basically, I have a system of mentally getting through the baseball offseason by marking time until the following events: Organizational meetings in early November, Winter Meetings in early December, Cubs Convention in January, Pitchers and catchers reporting to ST in February, and finally, Opening Day. It’s less maddening than simply saying, “OK, only three months until Opening Day”. For me, it works better to focus on the next time-marking point. BTW, is there any BCB meeting time/place scheduled?

I've been doing a countdown.

I’ve been using my whiteboard to countdown the days until Opening Day, I think it’s gone faster this season than any other. Also I think the fact the Cubs have been busy this offseason has made time pass faster. I’m surprised Kaplan isn’t on Friday night. I’d rather have him than Sirott.

If it was easy it wouldn't be the Cubs.

I had a chance to catch Kap's new show on WGN Radio yesterday.

I like it much better now that he has a co-host every night. WGN made a mistake when they didn’t replace Waddle after he left a few years ago. Glad they’ve revived the show, WGN always has great access to Cubs guest since they’re the flagship.

Hey, it's a new century!
