Questions about Buying Jerseys online
I have not posted in a very long while, so I apologize if I'm too rambly. I have been searching all over the internets for some reasonably priced jerseys, specifically the 1984 Ryne Sanberg away/blue jersey. I recently tried buying a Blackhawks jersey on eBay, and it ended up being a knockoff (eBay is working on getting my money back). I have recently found this website, chicagonationsports, and am pretty leery of trusting it. The really odd thing, is that I found it through an eBay listing. It offers to sell you a jersey from the previously mentioned site and give you a book. The reason I find this interesting is that it is covered by eBay's Buyer's Guarantee; so even if something does go wrong, they will cover it.
So my question is: has anyone dealt with, or even heard of this website?

Sounds too good to be true.
But I’m tempted to try it out. Authentic means it has actually patches, not just screen press…right?

Yes.
Yeah. I had owned one that I thought was real off of ebay a few years ago, then lost a whole lot of weight. I found one during last season and offered to trade the seller my old jersey plus a jacket, for a new jersey, and then he dropped off the net. Needless to say, I’ve been burned by ebay before and have learned, ALWAYS USE PAYPAL, they can always guarantee your money, but trading or sending checks is totally sketchy.

Well...
I used to use eBay all the time when I was a kid in high school and back then it was much more of an actual “marketplace.” I didn’t have any money on hand and I really wanted a new jersey, but didn’t want the hassle of selling them online, what if they didn’t sell, what if they didn’t sell for enough. Basically I figured it would be a really good deal for the guy, and he had a huge eBay store set up and really high feedback, so I went for it. After I sent them to him, his feedback dropped like crazy and buyer after buyer left back reviews saying they had paid and never received their items. It was a really really stupid decision on my part, to say the least, and I’ve learned alot since then.

I contacted the people through the eBay auction
to see if they could send any additional pictures (trying to determine if the stitching and patches look right). They actually got right back to me and are now promising to email me new detail pictures. I will update when I get the email.

First response
They sent me from their eBay store to their regular store and offered me a deal, 2 jerseys for $99, but only if I buy through their store, not eBay. Fishier and fishier.

Update
They sent me pictures from their warehouse and there are definitely a few things really off. The jock tag doesn’t have the right colors or fonts, and the bear face shoulder patch looks way too small. In addition, it doesn’t even have the 1984 NL East Champions patch that the authentic ones have. It’s definitely a bust =-/

As a owner of Mitchell & Ness throwback jerseys....
These are definitely fake.
1. The price, no Mitchell & Ness authentic jersey is that cheap.
see here:

2. I can tell just by looking at some of them, the font and size of some of the letters and numbers are way off.
Fake:

This jersey should be made out of wool flannel like below, not polyester above
Authentic:
I also noticed
looking at some of the Blackhawks and Bears jerseys that some were definitely fakes, but on the other hand, some of them looked really good, like the ’84 Sandberg one I was looking at…

Also look at their feedback on ebay...
It’s zero! It says they’ve been a member since 2008 and have zero feedback still. Shady.
I noticed this too
and the only thing that could explain it would be a lapse of more than a year of no feedback. I did check when the jerseys were posted for sale, and they have all been just today; so it’s foreseeable that they had an account for a while and let it lapse for more than 12 months and then start it back up. But that’s an awful stretch…I think I will just wait a few weeks, maybe months, and see if they start accumulating feedback

ebay jerseys
Just so everyone is aware, I would say that 90% of all jerseys sold on ebay are 100% NOT authentic. They all come from those shady sellers out of Asia that sell them for about $14 and then people here buy them in mass quantities and then mark them up and sell them for profit.
That being said, I do own a couple that I purchased directly from a seller in China and they aren’t all that bad. Sure, they aren’t authentic but you have to really get an up close look to see a few less than perfect stitches to even know. For me, it was well worh the money saved.
I thought
Once you establish contact with a seller on ebay they are NOT supposed to suggest to the buyer the transaction take place outside of ebay. I’d stay away.
Matter of fact, about the only places that you know you’re getting authentic are Mitchell and Ness, Wrigleyville Sports, Cub World and the Cubs themselves.
