honestly I am winging it as I go

looking at roto for sure, you get to pick a team that you represent and then you have to have X number of players, points for the following:

Batting
Batting Average (AVG)
Home Runs (HR)
Runs Batted In (RBI)
On Base plus Slugging Pct (OPS)
Hits (H)
Runs Created (RC)
Net Stolen Bases (SBN)
Strikeouts* (KO)
Walks (BB)
Ground into Double Plays* (GIDP)
Errors* (E)
Assists (AST)

Pitching
Earned Run Average* (ERA)
Strikeouts (K)
Wins (W)
Losses* (L)
Walks plus Hits Per Innings Pitched* (WHIP)
Innings Pitched (IP)
Appearances (APP)
Saves + Holds (SVHD)
Home Runs Allowed* (HRA)
Batting Average Against* (BAA)
Strikeouts per 9 Innings (K/9)
Strikeouts / Walks (K/BB)

this is my first time running a league

so the first years dues are a donation to JDRF and then prizes after that…

I've organized 2 leagues here at BCB for the last 2 years.....

I’ll put in a fanshot when I can set up on Yahoo.

10 or 12 team h2h 6×6 with auction format. Last year we got 11/12 live auctioneers (it was pretty funny watching the 12th team autobid on recently injured players, set-up men, etc.)

Will the regulars be invited back?

I think I’ve been in that league with you both years… looking forward to it once again.

for those interested in fantasy baseball help/information

check out the site i write for:

www.insiderbaseball.com or www.fantistics.com

we do football and baseball analysis, we released our projections last night and i promise you… we have the best draft software of ANYONE in the business. I became a writer for the site after being infatuated with the draft software for a few years. It re-ranks as the draft goes, it provides customized rankings specific to your league settings, has built in tier systems, adp information…its amazing

also you can follow me on twitter and we’ll have free podcasts up during the season (as we did for football, available on itunes)

Al, I hope its cool for me to write this and you don’t view it as “spam”. If its a problem feel free to delete the post

I follow you on twitter Drew and will definitely be using the software

Just one question you might be able to help me with.

I want to begin a fantasy baseball comp with some of my work colleagues in Australia this year, but its much harder for us to follow the day to day goings on of each club from over here, so we want to use a fantasy baseball site which:

Allows us to draft individual pitchers, not the pitching staff of an entire club

and

Sets line ups for the entire week not day to day

Is there a site which offers both these options?

for sure

I know www.cbssportsline.com has leagues where you can make the lineup settings weekly, yahoo and espn should too (though i haven’t played in them). Most of the sites i’ve played on have it so that you can draft individual pitchers as opposed to staffs

most of the sites now allow you to customize your league settings and for free (i think cbs might make you pay), but check yahoo and espn use their FAQ or help center to try to figure out if you can create your custom league, pretty sure you’ll be able to

and thanks for following me!

Keep up the good work.

What is everyone's preferred site

I have used ESPN in the past and like it for fantasy football

I'm planning on doing

an AL only league, so we don’t have to worry about Cubs or guys playing against the Cubs.

People should contact me (There’s a link on the sidebar) if interested. I’ve already gotten two people saying they’re in.

by Josh Timmers on Jan 28, 2011 8:16 PM CST reply actions

Except, of course...

… for players on the White Sox, Red Sox, Yankees, or Royals, all of whom play the Cubs this year. The White Sox play the Cubs as many games as the NL East or West teams.

Just sayin’.

Yes

I’m in a different, very serious continuing NL only league. I’d like something different and a little more fun.
