That's not the reason to do it.

Buehrle is an inning eater — never gets hurt. Works fast. His defensive players like him for that.

At the right price, he’s a good signing.

Time to stop talking.

And start inking.

Hoyer has already stated that improving the defense is a top priority…probably part of the reason Ramirez isn’t returning. I think this FA signing would work really well for the Cubs.

From what I’m hearing and reading, he’s going to get 4 years and around $55M. That’s insane. Left handed or not…he ain’t worth that much. 2 years for $20M total…maybe.
