Jeff Keppinger Non-Tendered
The Cubs should sign him just to stop him hitting AGAINST Cubs pitching. Look at his career numbers vs. the Cubs -- by far his best against any team. Useful infielder, can play multiple positions.

Maybe you should consolidate these
Seeing as there are now 5 separate fanshots for individual non-tenders.

I could.
But I think we’re probably done now. Unless you think the Cubs should pick up Rich Hill or Jeremy Hermida.

I was just going to say...
…FanShots should be renamed to Non-Tendered shots
"Pounding sand since 1982...."
Non-Tendered shots
Sounds like something you’d find at a Wrigleyville watering hole.

Nope.
According to this LA Times article, he’s been tendered.

I'd give this guy a shot
Solid role player.

In some ways, I'd rather have him than Jeff Baker.
At the right price, of course.

Meh.
Maybe if he was replacing DeWitt, but I don’t see anything gained by substituting him for Baker. Baker is really good at mashing LHP, Keppinger is a nice role player but doesn’t do one thing really well like Baker vs LHP.
But, plays shortstop.
Baker doesn’t play shortstop.

Neither does DeWitt.
And we already have a capable backup SS in Barney, seemed to work fine last year.
Al, no... just ... no.
Keppinger is a good hitter in a Ryan Theriot, no-walk kind of way. In fact, he’s a better hitter for average, though he won’t steal as many bases. Neither walks or hits for power.
But…
Keppinger has the range of a lamp post at 2B, and a weaker arm than LBR’s — if that’s possible. He also may be the worst 2B I have ever seen at turning the DP. He bails out if a runner is within 20 feet of him. He makes Aaron Miles look like a GG 2B.
For all of you that think he can play SS think of this: the Giants chose LBR over Keppinger mostly because they think LBR is a much better backup SS.
He is very useful as a backup 1B and a RHB PH. Other than that, pass…
