How cool that Matt Garza is in town at this late date.
It’s safe to assume he doesn’t live in the Chicago area, right?

He doesn't.
I think he came in specially for this ceremony.

i read he does live in Chicago on Cubs.com
. The right-hander’s name has been linked in trade rumors, but he’s not paying attention. Garza, who lives in the Chicago area in the offseason, said he stays in contact with his agent.
Chronologically inept since 2060
Q: Why did Chuck Norris cross the road?
A: Ditka
Ditka's mustache can kill two stones with one bird
It is better to spend money like there's no tomorrow than to spend tonight like there's no money! - Irish toast.
Huh.
I did not know that. He must have moved to Chicago last year; he used to live in California.

I would estimate 200-300 people.
Thing is, I live 3 blocks away, and I’m a STH, and I didn’t find out about this event until the morning of when I went to the STH Relocation event, so I don’t feel it was well publicized.
There is a nice electronic menorah next to the tree that the Cubs will begin lighting when Hannukah begins on Dec. 22.
After Crane Kenney spoke for a while, he turned it over to Tom Ricketts. Then the different congresspeople and governor spoke for 2-3 mins each, basically saying the same thing: how the Cubs support the community and how this tree will help bring business to the area, etc.
Then the head of the Southport Area Merchants Association got up there and said: “I’m going to keep this short. Happy Holidays and Go Cubs!” She received the best ovation for her brevity.

I did get a press release about this.
I had intended to post about it, but time got away from me.
