Cubs - Pirates - April 2nd

I was wondering who was going to try and make the game on the 2nd. Some friends of mine and I are going to meet up at the Cubbie Bear and see if the weather is decent see if we can get bleacher tickets, else we'll hang out at the CB and watch the game. How likely is it we can get tickets on the day of the game?

This game will probably be fairly easy to get tickets for.

Day of game? Maybe, maybe not. See how sales go on the first weekend, that will be a good indication.

There are always people scalping tickets outside

so you will be able to get tickets.

The price, however, is up in the air.

I’d try to grab them on Friday when tickets go on sale. You should be able to get them.

Keep that Q Train rollin' in '11. Let's win it for Ronnie.

Bleacher Tickets

are supposed to be $20 for that game so I figure I can handle that… plus I’ve never
sat in the bleachers.

R.I.P. Ronnie Santo... you will be missed...

No, actually...

… they’re $42 plus 12% tax, so really about $47, more if you buy them online.

It's more to buy tix...

online? Do they not charge the “convenience fees” or whatever they call them at the box office?

by kanderber on Feb 21, 2011 2:08 PM CST up reply actions

No, they don't.

At the box office, those tickets will be $47. Online (or by phone) via tickets.com, they’ll probably be about $50 each.

Probably more than that

Last year they had a “convenience fee” of $4.90 per ticket

I will be interesting having the second and third game of the season on a weekend

I suspect a larger demand, opening day kind of turns into opening weekend. Not a bad thing in my opinion

by El Borto on Feb 21, 2011 10:52 AM CST reply actions

True.

But the Cubs have opened at home on weekends before, just not the first series of the year, at least not in quite a while.

I will be at that game.

You're time-traveling back into the past to go to a 2005 game?

Hint: the Cubs lost that game 3-2. But my bleacher ticket cost only $28.
