"Every player should be accorded the privilege of at least one season with the Chicago Cubs. That's baseball as it should be played - in God's own sunshine. And that's really living." ~Alvin Dark

God every time I hear his name, I think of Rick Sutcliffe

talking about the Cubs acquiring him as if we had just acquired Mike Piazza in his prime.

My favorite Kendall memory

is when he hit that grand slam against the Cards.

Nick Wright (the reporter) is from KC 610 Sports.

I think he’s fantastic. From KC, went to Syracuse, well-respected and did well in a few radio spots @ ’Cuse, now the afternoon drive host. Anybody that thinks 810 > 610 is an idiot. I digress.

Context:

NW is in Arizona this week, getting some lazy interviews outta the way. Not lazy as in bad, but as in, It’s the First Week of Spring Training, We Ain’t Gonna Ask You Hard Stuff lazy interviews. Wright’s question is right on target—there’s lots of excitement and talk about the young Royals and if/when they are going to get pulled up, eligibility rules, etc. Nobody likes Jason Kendall and Jeff Franceour but Dayton Moore and Ned Yost. NOBODY. EVER. THEY SUCK.

Jason Kendall and Jeff Franceour are both shitty ballplayers. Fin

Kendal spent a good portion of his time this winter and last...

… in our family law courts here, bickering over his divorce and Adderall usage. He’s bitter.

According to...

Kendall’s baseball-reference page, he has made approximately $80 million playing baseball.

No real reason to be bitter there, unless of course he lost most of it in the divorce. Correct me if I’m wring, BeerCub, but if Kendall lives in California (where you are), a community property state, the most he could have lost is half. Right?

Right

Unless he was stupid and did a pre-nup that could be unfavorable to him. Why he would do that I don’t know.

What a hilarious story and thread.

Gotta give Royals fans some credit for maintaining their collective sense of humor.

Can that be Kendall's new nickname?

Jason “Rewind Yourself” Kendall. Has a good ring to it.

I think Kendall may have been playing around

If you listen to the last part of when he is talking, he seems to be laughing a bit.

Or maybe he’s just picking a fight to stay in the news.
