I have mentioned this before
One of the most prescient reports you will ever see. That first sentence is a knock out
The guy pushed really hard for the Cubs to draft Maddux.
"I am not ashamed to say I love Greg Maddux" - Jim Hendry
Me either
Before I even read the report....
I’ll bet it doesn’t say “future 350 game winner, four-time Cy Young Award winner, 3,000 career strikeouts, and shoe-in first ballot Hall of Famer”. Am I wrong? :)
"Don't complain to me about the stormy weather, boys. Just bring the ship into port." --Steve Stone, September 2004
Had him pegged for 600 wins.
Best player evah until Strasburg shows up.
Actually, you both should read it and you'll be amazed.
He said he’d be the number one player taken if he just looked more physical; had major league ready breaking pitches. Overall it was very complementary and pegged him really well.

Doug Mapson – Another great Dallas Green hire lost during the ZimFrey or Himes years...
I don’t know who he may have signed between Maddux and Brandon Belt, but can we doubt the good he might have done for the Cubs in the decade of bad picks that followed his departure in ’93?

"And you have to wonder – What's the matter with Broglio?" Harry, KMOX, 5/24/64
