Silva scuffles in first outing...literally
Wow I didn't know these guys took ST so seriously. I wasn't listening to the game, does it sound like Hill was on the opposite end of the scuffle?

Perhaps Z told him scuffling with your catcher
really helps the team out.

Jeez we’re barely into spring training and the ledge jumpers are already out.
If the world didn't suck we would all fall off.
Re; the comments
The use of the put down “Fat Slob”. Somehow it seems like such an old-timey slam, like something the Dead End Kids would have said.

Well I for one.
Really want to see how Quade handles this bullshit. All I’ve been hearing during spring training so far is sloppy play and now this?? Not looking to good.
I think his reaction to this will say a lot about what we should expect going forward.
Good point.

Well he says he
does plan on any disciplinary action.

Love this Quade quote (via Paul Sullivan):
“It was a brutal first inning. Plenty of blame to go around. Maybe it’s what we freaking need — maybe we need to get ticked off. It’s Day Four of spring training. I’ve got no business getting all fired up on four days of work, but today was really tough to watch, and it hasn’t been fun to begin with.”
There’s some good dudes in the clubhouse- let the players police themselves. Sloppy play, in-fighting, etc. should be handled by the players. Quade seems as though he’s working hard putting them in a good position to succeed. Let him continue to concentrate on that, and put some responsibility on the players.

Yes because letting the players handle sloppy play has worked out so well the last two seasons

It has and it hasn't worked, even going back through Dusty.

Well so far
It sounds like he is avoiding the media and has refused to talk about it. I realize 3 errors is frustrating in a game, but when your getting shelled – I would think its one of those – well everyone is having a bad day moments.

I wonder
if Charlie Sheen can take time from his frenzied media tour to make a pit stop in Mesa – the Cubs could use a pep talk…

This isn't funny.
Charlie Sheen is ill. We don’t do that here.

A true Cub fan
would know that the Cubs Clubhouse is glued to the Charlie Sheen drama and the players stop and “turn up the volume” when he comes on – this per Reed Johnson….

He can be a good 5th starter.

This is Carlos Pena's fault.
He was brought here to keep the angry latins in line.

Sorry, I'm sensitive to this bs.
I think comment is inappropriate and perpetuates an ignorant stereotype.

Yeah, I have a problem with this.

Although I appreciate the context,
I still don’t see any humor in paraphrasing yet another horrible Rosenbloom article.

I don't care if Rosenbloom said it.

We have firmly established
That the Ghost of Rick Sutcliffe was somehow involved.
"Who ever heard of the Cubs losing a game they had to have?" -Frank Chance
"If [Ruth] had [called his shot], I would have knocked him down with the next pitch." -Charlie Root
Paraphrasing and summarizing the tweets I was getting from Muskat and the Sun-Times guys...
…Sounds like the other guy was ARam. Silva had no comment – several times. Did say hi to LaTroy though on way out. ARam denied it then kinda alluded to involvement. Sori sang like a canary – guess he didn’t get the team memo.
oh and funniest tweet was where someone in pressbox said Zambrano was jealous he didn’t get to throw out the first punch of the season…
Lou Brown: "My kinda team, Charlie, my kinda team..."
I think they should have time to work it out as teammates.
If Silva and Ramirez agree to put it behind them, I don’t see the big deal. Silva should continue through the spring. Whoever pitches the best in the spring should be the 4th and 5th starters. I don’t agree with Silva’s behavior but these guys should hold one another accountable. Now, it should be behind closed doors but they shouldn’t accept poor play.

so Rami will be traded now
that is how it works, pitcher for Cubs get into fight, other player is shipped out
Chronologically inept since 2060
Q: Why did Chuck Norris cross the road?
A: Ditka
Ditka's mustache can block a Chuck Norris round house
SSS
The only pitcher that’s been in any altercation has been Z – that may be the deciding factor, not merely pitcher vs. position player.

but we are 2 for 2
so it must be, we have to keep Silva and trade Rami to keep with tradition

Maybe we aren't giving Silva enough credit.
Perhaps he’s actually pretty smart. Set the bar so low, that when you do okay, everything looks better.
Remember his first ST start last year?
