FedEx says Season Tickets are on the way

Just got a blast from the Cubs telling me that me that my season tix are on the way from AR - is that Arkansas? It is Wednesday night.

Here is why I am posting - it says - Please note that NO signature will be required to deliver your tickets this year.

I am going to have FedEx hold the tickets at my local FedEx location. I don't like the idea of the tickets sitting in my doorway all day.

This is a FanPost and does not necessarily reflect the views of SB Nation or Al Yellon, managing editor (unless it's a FanPost posted by Al). FanPost opinions are valued expressions of opinion by passionate and knowledgeable baseball fans.

The office told me there would be a $10 charge if I asked for it to be held

but if you leave them a note as opposed to calling them you may not get charged. My rep says asking them would be a rediirection and require a fee.

I'm having them held.

No charge. But then, I asked a month ago.

It’s absolutely ridiculous to charge people for NOT shipping tickets.

It is a question of changing the original order

Since you asked a month ago this would not be an issue. It should be pretty simple to leave a note asking to take them back to main depot but I do think sending them without requiring a signature was not a great idea. There may be a lot of Cubs STHs that in fact prefer no sig , but they should have asked. Need I point out that FX does charge extra for signatures on residential deliveries.

I wouldn't want those left with no signature.

I can understand that.

What they should do is offer ALL season ticket holders the option when they send in their final payment — either delivery, or pickup. That way, you’d make the decision in January, they’d know exactly how many to send out and how many to hold, and things would be easy to do.

I think that FedEx just starting charging extra for sigs required this year

and Cubs didn’t want to pay the extra – so if the do end up offering the option I bet there will be a charge (from Cubs) for selecting sig option – so the costs aren’t covered by them

I had them held

through the Fedex link that was sent to me. No charge.

The thing was I called the office and asked them to hold them

this was BEFORE they were sent. Since they will arrive tomorrow I won’t have to do it, but I have picked them up there most years.

I'm going to make sure the ticket office knows about this.

If you ask for them to be held, there’s no reason they shouldn’t be able to do it.

In fairness the office did not ship them

Since you asked a month ago I don’t see any problem

When they used to send tickets through the US mail

My mailman used to time it so that he would be in my driveway at exactly the same time as when I got home…

then he would try to hit me up for a couple free sets.

Then and Christmas would be the only time I would ever see him.

Got Mine

and got the e-mail, I did not have to sign for them.

Got mine – no email.

New this year – season ticket box. Gone this year – ledger, unless I just got left out.

Did anyone else actually pay in cash to get the signed ball? And if so, has it arrived?

by 08Cubs on Mar 10, 2011 5:49 PM CST reply actions

Uh...

Pay by check. I did not send a wad of cash down to Wrigley.

by 08Cubs on Mar 10, 2011 5:50 PM CST up reply actions

Totally Possible

I couldn’t remember the terms. Also, apparently the ledgers are coming later with more pocket schedules.

For those of you who got your tickets in, what do they look like?

Is Santo featured?

Keep that Q Train rollin' in '11. Let's win it for Ronnie.

Just a Santo flag

on some of the tix. Mostly of the park and lots of fan shots. NO PLAYERS!

Wow you tore them out already?

Do split them with a group? I always hate tearing mine out of the book when the games are well in advance, but I do have to sell them off too.

I hate the tearing -

- but I hate floating my good friends interest free while Citibank does me no such favors even more. I got mine yesterday, and spent the evening and part of today tearing, divying up, and entering barcodes on Stubhub

I am one of six

There are six names on the green post its. We had a ticket lottery about two weeks ago and now we have to distribute.

Well I hope I get to see at a game in our wonderful section

Right now I plan on the Cards & Giants in May. The Marlins, Astros Phillies in July
and Cards in August plus one or more of the Braves after.

Received mine today.

Tickets are larger but I like the design. The Stadium Club is now sponsored and called the United Club. The ticker ledger will arrive later in a separate mailing which confuses me considering the tickets were shipped in a nice decorative box that way way too big for the tickets. Lastly, the letter from the ticket manager talked about how we should be optimistic because of the 24-14 record last year under Quade. Referring over and over to this record by the organization has gotten very old and will soon mean absolutely nothing.

That seems strange.

Send out a huge box and NOT put a ticket ledger in it? Odd.
