Good Job Jim!
Over the past couple of years all I have heard is how much pitching that the cubs have. So we cut Carlos Silva and his 12 million dollar contract instead of putting him in the long relief roll as insurance, could we use him know? So two weeks into the season two of are starting pitchers go down, and we have basically know one to replace them, who is up to the task nor ready... wow that leaves us with a chance to win a ballgame 60 percent of the time. That’s if we have a bullpen left to close those games out.
Sorry this isn't much of a post just wanted to blow off some steam... all you grammer geaks who have nothing better to do FU

Ugh...is it like this all the time?
Did everyone expect this year’s team to be really good or something? You’d swear things are FUBAR around here and that there’s little to no hope moving forward…
I know Hendry should have seen two starters going down within their first 2-3 starts. I know that he should have been prepped with proven ML talent ready to take over and win games immediately. That said, I don’t mind at all that we’ll probably see at least 3-4 really young arms fighting for more chances in the future this year.
this should be fun...

Good Job Al!
Over the past couple of years all I have heard is about the ending the Astros have had. Then you cut BLou and his over the top rants instead of keeping him off to the sides and could we use him now? Two weeks into the season and two of our starting pitchers go down and our clean up isn’t hitting and we have basically know one to bitch about it, up to the task nor ready, when in Rome, what goes around comes around….wow that leaves us with goodold#10 to come on here and take his place. How does Hendry survive
this team is going nowhere and we all know it, at best it’s looking like about 75-87. This is a GM who has NO PLAYOFF wins in eight years now, continues to have one of the highest payrolls in the NL, I just can’t see PR wise how Ricketts—who is totally clueless himself—can bring Hendry back in what would be a lame duck contract year anway.
For the Rickett's family...
…that is the $850 million question.

Good long term decisions
“Jim Hendry has helped build a sense of urgency and create a winning environment throughout our organization,” Kenney said. "Jim’s aggressive nature and tireless dedication to improving our club are well-known, but equally important is his assembly of one of the most talented baseball operations departments in the industry.
“Jim’s leadership and the continuity of our baseball operations department are critical to finishing the job we began six years ago,” Kenney said. “We fell well short of our goal this year, and that will fuel our work this offseason.”
Hendry’s contract was up at the end of the year, and the extension removes any lame duck status he might have had because of the pending sale of the Cubs, which was not expected to be resolved by year’s end. Hendry has maintained it’s business as usual, and Kenney emphasized that the goal is to make good long-term decisions for the organization.
“We assume the new owner will appreciate those things and not have any difficulty with them,” Kenney said.
