Ya gotta love Tim Lincecum. I couldn't agree more with his opinion on adding another team to the playoff mix. What do ya got to say about this, Timmy?... "Personally I think it's kind of funky, just because the game has been this way for so long. Why mess it up, other than for monetary purposes, and that's probably what (Selig) is looking at. That's like, 'OK, don't worry about us as human beings or players.' "It doesn't seem very fair, and personally I don't know where his head is at. It doesn't seem right to me." "Nobody wants to have to worry, 'Oh (expletive), now I've got another (expletive) team in the (expletive) mix. Now we have to worry about what that takes and what they're going to do.' What if the (second) wild-card team is not deserving of getting in? I never really liked the Wild Card. I know it makes it exciting and everything for teams who aren't good enough to win a division, but, now they are possibly creating a scenario where a team that finishes THIRD in a division could get into the playoffs and, if they get hot at the right time, could win a World Series. That's ludicrous. I know one Wild Card team from each division is necessary to keep playoffs even, and that can't change unless they go back to 2 divisions OR give a first round bye (which would be even dumber). Selig needs to concentrate more on things like instant replay, the Dodgers and the Mets and quit trying to fix something that isn't broken.
