Mostly OT The Unifying Nature of Sports in a CityOkay this is probably a line you never thought you'd see on BCB While watching a royal wedding preview.... Okay they were talking about how the royal wedding unifies the people of Britian be they different races, religions, politics etc almost everyone for one day about something happy. And how about with all the bad things going on right now in the world it's nice for one day the coverage will be about something happy and fresh. I thought about what we have in this country and that is sports. When a team is winning the talk is all about the games and looking forward to watching the game, what happened the night before, what may happen the next game. It crosses racial lines, religious lines, age lines, political lines etc. I saw this in person the other day. I've been riding the same bus for a long time. With the same people. We never really talk much except for pleasantries and such but the last week we were all talking Bulls and Blackhawks. This was a real cross section of people.
