That's bizarre.

It’ll warm up in Lansing by June.

Don't bet on it...

There are 108 beads in a Catholic rosary and there are 108 stitches in a baseball. Who says baseball isn't a religion?

I have experienced a quick thaw

Making the ground so soft you can’t walk on it. The freezing expands the dirt; the thawing turns it all to mush. I can’t believe Lansing’s groundskeepers weren’t aware of the possibility.

I have PMS & a GPS -- which means -- I am a bitch, and I will find you.

First time it's ever happened here in 16 years.

There were a lot of experienced baseball people in the park covering a lot of years in the business at a lot of locations around the country and NONE of them had ever seen anything like that.

In fact, it was so bad that Friday’s doubleheader was scrubbed as well. The grounds crew was working frantically to compact the soil and level the infield. But yesterday’s rain didn’t help matters. We need to sunshine to dry it out.

I walked on the infield and it was still spongy in spots. The managers didn’t want their players trying to run, slide and field on it just yet.

Hopefully today (Saturday). We have a DH scheduled at 2pm.

Wow.

Eventually, you’ll have a baseball season, even if you have to wait until July.
