Other than one meltdown at high altitude

in Colorado Springs, Maine has been pitching very well lately.

He should have been here earlier. I suspect the only reason he wasn’t was that he’s left-handed and we’ve already got Marshall, Grabow and Russell throwing lefty. But I’d rather have a good left-hander facing a right-hander than a right-hander who is a bigger threat to hit the mascot than the catcher’s mitt.

Well, that's.......something

So we now have 4 lefties in the pen?

I guess I'm just a worrier, that's why my friends call me whiskers

Can't say I'm very surprised

If the world didn't suck we would all fall off.

Good one, I was thinking the same thing.

Hey Al

Ask, and you shall receive. Is Maine really the best pitcher available in AAA? Not sure if I want to throw up or just have a big ol’ cry.

He and Justin Berg

are the only Iowa pitchers with an ERA under 3, and Berg has only thrown seven innings.

by Josh Timmers on May 17, 2011 3:31 PM CDT up reply actions

And Berg isn't eligible to come back yet unless somebody goes on the DL

It's a simple question, Doctor: would you eat the moon if it were made of ribs??

So does this mean that our 39-man roster is still full?

Granted it was against AAA batting

but Maine looked rather good in Reno on Sunday.

Hopefully the game is on TV here in northern Nevada tonight!

Awwwwwwww.

Now which hopeless middle reliever am I going to waste time defending? I actually did like what I saw from Scott Maine at the end of last season.

I won a bet

A friend of mine was complaining during the first week of the season how bad Russell was. I insisted that Mateo was a worse as a reliever, thus was born a bet. He got Russell, I got Mateo, and the first one to get sent down won lunch.
