Keith Moreland the broadcaster

I'm very curious as to everyone's opinion on Moreland's work thus far as the full time color man on WGN Radio. As a out of state college student, I don't get the Cubs on television often but the AtBat app on my phone has let me listen to Pat and Keith every day (I almost enjoy listening to Pat's play by play more than watching on TV anyway. The Cubs make me sick watching them and Pat, especially with Ron, is so good). I haven't been able to find any reviews of Keith on the web so I thought I'd try here.

Let me offer mine: I can't take it anymore. Maybe it's because I find myself requiring him to fill Ron's shoes (impossible), but I think Keith is insufferable. He just is not entertaining to listen to. Yeah, he offers some sort of intelligent analysis and insight, but then, quite frankly, so does everyone from their couch. He has no chemistry with Pat, and the worst part is in the 5th, when Pat takes his break. Instead of Judd coming in and doing play (like years past with Ron), Keith moves to play and Judd does color. Awful. You'd have to think that WGN would have this reversed, but no dice.

So what does everyone else think? Am I too harsh? Am I spot on? Does anyone have a connection where a broadcast journalism student like myself can try to put his money where his mouth is?
