I read this on ESPN's rankings of the best owners in baseball
"Tom Ricketts, Cubs: He told a Chicago reporter last week that "I can't stand it when I hear someone say they can't afford to go to a game. It might be hard to get tickets for a Yankees or Sox game, but there's no reason why they can't afford to go to another game." It must be nice to be so detached from the real world.
As a fan, I think that's a HORRIBLE way for the owner to look at the team and its fans especially. To me it's just one more nail in the coffin that makes me think this is simply an investment for the Ricketts family and nothing else. I'd be interested to see what anyone else thinks of this.
