At 99, is it flat, or does it have any movement

"It was a perfect situation for the Brewers," Hill said. "They had a guy up there at the plate [in Counsell] who takes a lot of pride in what he does and he practices those situations, so when it does come up, he gets the bunt down to the right side of the field. They have the perfect guy on first base [in Gomez], who is one of the fastest guys in the league, and they had one of the worst fundamental teams on the field, so it was a perfect situation for them."

Down 7-4 top of the 8th.

Kaker and Reed hit homers. Z looked good early and lost it. Bullpen gave up two in the 7th when Castro dropped a pick-off throw.

Not a high pressure pitcher

that was obvious from his days as a Twin. Still ended up with a 2.63 ERA in his full year with the Cubs. 3.32 ERA in his half year

by bheidge on Jun 15, 2011 11:10 PM CDT up reply actions

I think I hate him more now because he’s had success, albeit as a set-up man.

he was 25 out of 34

never should have been a closer. Like I said, that was obvious from all his meltdowns as the closer for the Twins. Still put up good numbers

Thanks for looking that up.

Nice to know the Cubs can be depended on to not win 3 games in a row.

The only team in MLB not to do that yet this season? Sigh.

Only the Cubs.

I sincerely hope they are not on a two-game winning ‘streak’ when I come see them play in person later this month.

by Zeke on Jun 16, 2011 4:25 AM CDT reply actions

If the Cubs were to play a 2 win, 1 loss rhythm (.667 percentage) for the rest of the season,

they would have 90 wins. See, even without a 3 game winning streak…

I just wish this was realistic.

Ahhh... at least the Cubs consistant.

For a bit there, I almost thought I’d wake up to our first 3 gm winning streak… realy. We’re talking about winning a whopping 4.86% of gms inna row. 4.86%?! I’m trying to remain as positive as possible but c’mon… does anyone know if this is or is approaching record setting? We’re less than a month from AS Break…can’t win 3 inna row yet???

At another Cubs site, they were discussing this on May 25th

and people were “complaing” about the post and many were hopeful? it’s nearly a month later now… the upcoming schedule, IMHO, doesn’t seem favorable to break the streak.
