The Bears are in the market for a punter, I hear...

For one night...
…the Cubs aren’t the dysfunctional team in Chicago. We need to enjoy it while we can.
Most (objective) Sox fans I spoke with this morning say it was probably the right call. One fan pointed out Ozzie probably jumped in to save Ramirez, which was smart of him. Getting thrown out on the other hand…

Ha, I love the look on Geo's face after he kicks his mask
~Ronald Reagan has held the two most demeaning jobs in the country; President of the United States and radio broadcaster for the Chicago Cubs~ George F. Will
That look is priceless.

Even Konerko commented on Soto's reaction
Konerko thought it was funny too.

Nice
I’ve been googling for that pic this morning.
Geo goes into Cubs lore with that smile and the point.

Definitely.
Is it sad that the things we remember the most about the Crosstown Classic happen off the field?
Z flipping out.
Ozzie flipping out.
AJ Punch-inski.

They are easier to remember when the Cubs win

Definitely.
ARam hitting the walkoff homer off Linebrink was a classic.

The Blackhawks Stanley Cup game
Cubs, Blackhawks, and sox all on the field at the same time. Most people forget the great pitching that night and a tense 1-0 win by Lilly and Marmol.

I bought a photo...
…. of the three teams on the field before that game and framed it for my home office.

My buddy took a great pic of that
He has a great camera and he took a pic as good as the pro’s on the field.

Lilly lost a no-no in the ninth, didn't he?
I believe Juan Pierre singled to lead off.

Yep as a PH
And then it was a stressful Marmol outing – walk, balk, K, IBB, groundout 3-2, flyout.

That one was bittersweet for me.
I was suppose to go with a friend, who bailed at the last second. Trying to be a good friend, I stood outside the stadium trying to get some money for his ticket. The entire time I could hear the crowd going crazy because of all the stuff with the Cup. By the time I said “screw it” I barely caught the end of the game.
Fast forward eight innings, I had made some friends who decided they’d rather go to the bar than possibly see a no hitter. I felt very sad for them.

That's too bad
I tell my buddies to text me when they are at the gate. Sometimes they need to text me twice. It gets loud in there.

"What a loon!"
And Thibs said, Let there be three's, and Deng shot threes
And Deng saw the three's, that they were good
And didn't shoot long two's anymore

Geo is awesome.
And Ozzie is an idiot.

Nice work!
Although I like the camera angles from Comcast better than I did WGN….better shot of Geo’s face.

I'll see what I can do.
I saw one this morning, but now can’t find it.

"Wo-wo-oh! Yea-ea-eah! I feel so high..." - Kaya by Bob Marley
This morning I heard a postgame interview with Soto, presumably at his locker. In the background you could hear the plangent sounds of a fellow pot smoker, Bob Marley.
Ah can't take a joke?
I figured if you were joking around about Soto smoking pot, you’d expect some jokes coming back.
"Pounding sand since 1982...."
Likewise
I love jokes and thought the topic started here was terrific in fact I recommended the Lucy post below. That said was your comment an attempt at a joke?
Wow you are salty today!
It’s amazing how you Sox fans act after one loss. Chin up.
"Pounding sand since 1982...."
HUH?
I don’t know if you’re projecting, having a pot meet kettle moment or what but I was here posting (attempts at) jokes about the Sox befire the game and i slept well last night.
I'm not trying to start anything.
I read your joke and gave you grief back. No harm was intended, yet you come back with “lighten up francis” like you took it the wrong way. I’m trying tell you it’s all in good fun, that’s all.
And FWIW, the Sox fans were actually very nice to me last night at the Cell. Perhaps it was because I was in nicer seats, but everyone was pretty friendly. I was pleasantly surprised. I’d like to see the Sox/Cubs series be more like the Cards/Cubs series where both teams have some respect for each other, despite their hatred for one another.
"Pounding sand since 1982...."
And for the record...
I am NOT slamming Soto for the pot trouble. I dont use it myself but I feel it should be legal.
