Hey everyone, I am a college student in Kentucky and I have loved the Cubs since I was a child. I have been following this blog for a year now and I really enjoy seeing the daily minor league updates. However, I made an account yesterday because I was curious about the lack of fan posts that discuss random observations about our beloved Cubbies. I also follow Stampede Blue and Indy Cornrows. They have many more fanposts discussing the state of the team despite having a much smaller following. I am referring to conversations such as....
Starlin Castro is playing incredibly well for only being 21 years old. When was the last time we had a young star with this much promise? Who can we expect his numbers to resemble by the end of his career?
Was Mike Quade the wrong choice for manager or does he just have a bad/injury ridden team? Or are both possibly true?
Now that we have had him for a half of a season, how does everyone feel now about the trade for Matt Garza? Was it a bad move? Or do you feel that he's had bad luck and his true potential has yet to be seen?
These are just general topics that I just thought of. Are topics such as these mentioned enough in comments that people don't feel the need to post them separately?
Lastly, it would be neat to also see more in depth reports on our prospects. For example, when players like Lemahieu and Campana were called up it would have been cool to see a short story on them. Maybe also a report on their ceiling and if they have an honest shot at earning a full-time spot. These are just things I often wish were discussed more. If no one else does I apologize for imposing lol. I think Al and Josh are doing an amazing job and I would like to commend you guys on creating such a great online haven for fans. Go Cubs!
