Wrigley rooftop businesses fail health inspections
Those all you can eat deals don't sound quite as enticing now...
"The city found at least 12 violations at Beyond the Ivy, 1048 W. Waveland Ave., including food being stored at improper temperatures. At Brixen Ivy, 1044 W. Waveland, where at least eight violations were reported, officials observed workers wearing the same gloves to handle food, touch garbage cans and wipe their faces.
On Monday the city also inspected Wrigleyville Rooftops, 1032 W. Waveland, which passed with conditions, and another Beyond the Ivy location at 1038 W. Waveland, which failed."

This also cracked me up...
Health officials made the visits after the Tribune inquired…
I’d like to believe that this means the Trib going out of it’s way to mess with it’s old rooftop “partners”.

Probably not.
But these failures do not surprise me.

At the game last night, my friends and I discussed buying a rooftop building. And then tearing down the bleachers on top. Just go back to lawn chairs and a cooler with beers. Maybe change it up each game – couch, lazyboy recliners, card table and chairs, formal dining room table and chairs for a mid-summer’s night game.

I've had the same conversation. I used to have a friend who lived in the building at the corner of
Waveland and Kenmore in the 80s when you could just sit up there with a cooler and lawn chairs. There were always two guys up there whose job it was to blow up an inflatable Rusty Jones balloon that took up the east half of the roof. They would just sit there and get stoned and/or drunk, deflate the balloon when the game ended and leave – hopefully on public transportation.
It wasn’t profitable but it sure was a lot more fun than the current roofs I’ve been on.
Year 2 is going great! What's next up for the season?

I dont like it when
the guy at the convenience store touches the mouth area of my soda when ringing me up.
Same gloves to make food and touch garbage?? I just hope they were touching the food first.
