I heard a interesting interview Bob Brenly did on Danny Mac's show this morning. I don't think they've posted the link yet but Brenly was asked about Quade and the Cubs current tailspin. I'm paraphrasing Brenly but his response was dead on. Got to love Brenly's honesty.
"It's a little different managing in the minor leagues, so there may be some difficulty in figuring out how to right the ship because your roster in the minors is always in flux and there isn't much weight put on long losing or winning streaks, it's about player development."
He was asked about the current state of the Cubs. Good thing this isn't 2004 because those players would have called for Brenly's head.
"They are playing like a dead ass team"
He was asked about how he would have handled the Pujols situation on Saturday.
"I would have put the winning run on second base by intentionally walking Pujols and Berkman and forcing TLR's hand because the pitchers spot was due up behind Berkman"
He was asked about Z's response following yesterday's game.
"Someone needs to say it, maybe he could have chosen his words better but someone needs to speak out"
