In 1966

after the same amount of games as this year the Cubs were 32 and 70. They were in last place 14 games behind the 9th place Mets. In game 103 of that year they went into Shea stadium with Bill Hands pitching and he was successful.

The Cubs lineup was Adolpho Phillips CF, Glenn Beckert 2B, Billy Williams LF, Ron Santo 3B, Ernie Banks SS, Randy Hundley C, Byron Browne LF, Don Kessinger SS and Hands. Leo was managing. Does this lineup look like it would be 32 and 70. Well it was.

Tonight Mr. Dempster goes into Milwaukee with a team that is 42 and 60. Does the current lineup look better than 1966 ? Let's have a fun discussion around these facts. I hope Ryan pulls a "Bill Hands" tonight !
