He made the same mistake someone else made...
… about Kenney upping Soriano’s price. That was John McDonough.
Otherwise, pretty accurate analysis. And this time, he stayed away from goats.

Very true
I also believe Zell had a hand in it to up the ante of the Cubs sale and minimize his tax burden.
Either way, McDonough was the one ultimately responsible for the Soriano debacle of a contract. I read that Hendry was only offering 5 yrs and he found out that McD and company upped it to 8. Hendry took the fall for it, since McD was his boss.
I’m still not high on Kenney but will give him a pass on this one.
but werent there other teams offering Soriano alot of money?
… i think it was the angels and i think they offered him 7 years.
The Angels, Phillies & Nats all offered Soriano deals.
The Cubs probably could have had him for six years, though, not eight.

I LOVE
that he also thinks Fielder is a fat load who will be a mistake to sign long-term.
If Fatty Fielder will sign for 3-5 years, great. Anything longer, let him go have his triple-bypass somewhere else.
I HATE fat ballplayers.
