Yep.
I was just thinking the same thing, but it was just a few years ago. Time flies when you’re having fun (or at least that’s what AL East fans tell me).

Hard to believe he's only 26
It really does seem like ages ago he was a can’t miss, five tool, future Hall of Famer who was going to anchor centerfield for the Cubs for fifteen years just like Corey Patterson was supposed to do before him. Maybe they’ll finally get lucky with Brett Jackson.
Yeah, I know there should be an apostrophe in "Vails," but punctuation wasn't an option when I signed up.

i never understood the hype.
I never liked his swing. Still I thought he would hang around for awhile like Corey.

So you are saying we should pick him up?
Just kidding, I remember all the hype surrounding Pie and now he’s getting DFA’d by the Astros of the AL, sad.

Of course, with full FTC.
Kidding. However, I can see someone taking a flier on him.

I remember his first game
when he had an incredible throw to get a runner out at the plate. I was so excited about his future with the Cubs
"I am not ashamed to say I love Greg Maddux" - Jim Hendry
Me either
And him and Soriano were supposed to be like some kinda dynamic duo at the top...
lol

Pie should go to spring training on a minor league contract
A team (such as the Cubs) could take him on now, but the problem is that he is eligible for arbitration in 2012, and would probably get the same almost $1 million that he got this year. That is too much. Even if a team does take him, I predict that he will be non-tendered in December. We shall see….
I'm glad the GM to decide
things rather soon should be a ‘results first’ type instead of a ‘loyalty first’ type.
I'm a Cubs fan. The Jaded Bitterness comes as a Standard Feature.
Agreed.
I was just thinking that last night — if Jim Hendry were still here, the Cubs might have signed him.
I hadn’t realized how bad he was offensively this year. He will be 27 in February. I’m not suggesting the Cubs sign him, but I suspect someone will.

We have quite the depth chart of bust former-prospects...
Kevin Orie, Brooks Kieschnick, Hee Sop Choi, Luis Montanez, Juan Cruz, etc. At least we could field a pretty solid rec league softball team.

In a strange coincidence of ex-Cubs,
At least this move allowed Jake Fox to return to the major leagues.

As I've told you before, I never repeat myself.

If we want that to be true to its historical source
The headline should say something like “Felix Pie Wins MVP”.
