OT: P-Town Padres Back-to-Back Champs!!
For the second straight summer season, my adult rec baseball team has won the championship in our division!! The score was 6-3, and he game was played on an old minor league field, Jay Lttleton Field in Ontario, CA. I've mentioned our teams progress in threads throughout the season, some folks seemed to enjoy it, so I thought I'd post the results here on the site.
The game was very tight, we trailed 3-0 going into the bottom of the 7th. The team we played featured a guy who is an acquaintance of our Hammer's. I was 2-4 on the day, and will finish the season with an OPS of just about .900, led the team in walks, second in runs scored out of the lead-off spot. I was instrumental in starting the rally which won the game, getting a hit batting second in the 7th, after the guy who led off got HBP. It was only our 3rd hit of the game, my 2nd...
Anyway, it was a blast, but the celebration after the game at our bar was even more fun!!! Fall season starts in 3 weeks, see you at the ballpark!

Congrats
Sounds like a lot of fun! I played in a fast pitch league here in Portland. We never played for the championship, but did win a small tourney! Kyle trebelhorn was on the team, and was by far the best player. His dad Tom who was a cubs manager came to a couple games. He was very nice, and told some funny cubs stories!

Cool daily2b! Congratulations!
I only played on a neighborhood league way back, and we were really really bad. Did it for 2 summers and that was enough for me. :)

Nice
My grandpa just “retired” from softball. He is almost 80 years old. His games used to start sometimes at 7am because of the heat in Surprise AZ.
“Hey Sean wanna come to my game??”
“Of course Grandpa Don, what time is it at??”
“7am”
“Iiiiiieeeeeeeeeee”
All good – love my grandpa. Huge Yankee fan.
