As we look toward next season, a lot of attention will be on free agents. But the club needs help in offense, defense, and pitching. Even with some contracts winding down, they probably can't afford to fill all the holes with free agents. The constraint on a baseball team is that you only have so many players. Just getting rid of bad eggs isn't enough. You need to be ahead of the rest of the league at some position(s).
So, who could you imagine the Cubs acquiring by trade this offseason? Justin Upton and Matt Kemp have been mentioned often on this blog. Give your case for those guys or someone else. Dream big!
