A great story about the kindness of the Rays pitcher.

If MLB had not changed the format for the draft Price would likely be a Cub.
The year Price was drafted (2007) the Cubs held the top draft pick in the NL for their horrid 2006 season.. This was the first year that MLB went to total overall record for draft position, instead of alternating between AL and NL for the 1st pick. It would have been the NLs year for the top pick. Instead, we drafted third and picked Vitters.
Oh what may have been.
And it wasn’t Hendry’s fault.

Right, but someone here will probably try to blame him anyway.

Sigh...he's not even emplyed by the team anymore and you still can't keep yourself from defending him...
even when it’s against attacks that haven’t even materialized yet.
As I've told you before, I never repeat myself.

Can we partly blame him for Vitters?

Price is a smart kid – hope he has a long and healthy career… and signs for pennies on the dollar with the Cubs.
