OT: ESPN leaves New York and Boston alone (Tebow)
According to DeadSpin, ESPN broke its own record by making 160 Tebow references in one hour of Sports Center.
For 48 minutes of programming, that works out to one "Tebow" every 18 seconds.

Thank you
… for reminding me why I don’t watch SportsCenter any more.

Same here...
SportsCenter is crap, plain and simple!
agreed
and they are trying to attack UFC now as well, and UFC has provided the facts that ESPN are ignoring. Knowing the history of ESPN with facts, are we surprised and should we expect ESPN to admit it as well?
Q: Why did Theo Epstein cross the road?
A: To Dump Garza
I think I speak for many when I say Chris Berman needs to shut up!
One of the many reasons I haven’t watched SportsCenter in about five years is because 365 days a year it’s NFL, NFL, NFL.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m a Bears fan, and enjoy watching them, but with football, you have these idiots on SportsCenter flap their gums for a whole damn week talking about what they think will happen. Then after the game is played, and it doesn’t go down how they predicted, they spew out more garbage about why things went down and how it will turn out next week.
That is the beauty of baseball, a new game virtually every day!
Off-topic, but please I want to see Pacquiao vs. Mayweather!!!! Make it happen!
I am SO happy Denver lost and I do NOT like the Pats
With Packers gone I suppose I will root for San Francisco but don’t really care much for football. Tebow just annoyed me. Loved the SNL bit with Jesus in the locker room.

Can you imagine the hype
if Baltimore and San Francisco win, and the Harbaugh brothers coach against each other in the Super Bowl?
You’ll never hear the end of it.
The Tebow SNL skit was one of the best things they’ve done in years.

I wish SNL with fire Jason Sedakis
"Hey.....Cubs win!!!" ---Harry
"Cubs win....what a lucky break!!" ---Harry
This is the scenario I'm rooting for. The Harbaugh Bowl.
You should check out the Jimmy Fallon Tebow piece. Little bit funnier IMO.
I would link it, but I refuse to enable anyone’s Tebowism. Gonna have to do it yourselves.
Hey! I caught the 3rd Castro thread!!
Brady in the Super Bowl is what FOX is hoping for...
…it’s all about the glamor. Plus, he’s got that Gisele Bündchen thing going on.
As long as I don’t have to see or hear that phony SOB Ray Lewis, I’ll enjoy the game. The halftime show, on the other hand…meh. Madonna? Really? Lady GaGa wasn’t available?
You're right, it's totally his fault the media hyped him to no other.
It’s totally his fault he’s like, a good person, didn’t kill a guy (Ray Lewis), shoot himself (Plax), etc., etc. I’m fairly indifferent towards the Tebow mania, but let’s just be clear that he’s done absolutely nothing to dislike; as an opponent, he’s inconsistent and generally not effective, he’s not Roger Ailes controlling the content; no, he was the winning QB for Denver for the majority of the season, and his teammates speak nothing but highly of him.
In other words, your “annoyance” is unprovoked and pretty much lame.

Without getting into a debate about their merits, you're excluding a major portion of what he does that some people annoying / objectionable
…and that’s his political / religious views, particularly the direct endorsement of Focus on the Family (and the fact that they were allowed to advertise on both the Super Bowl and the Tebow Bowl this week). That’s not to mention the act of Tebowing itself.
Again, I’m not absolutely not opening up a discussion about the merits of those things, but that is a huge piece of the anti-Tebow crowd’s distaste for him, and that is something he is 100% responsible for.

He may do that, but what rules has he broken.....
Just wondering….
He thanks God for stuff……..This is a problem?
To some yes I guess
Please.
I could honestly care less about Tebow, but over the top? In a league of full of obnoxious punks who celebrate every time they make a routine play, Tebow is far from distasteful or over the top. The NFL has plenty of loud mouth scumbags, so I find the whole Tebow issue incredibly overblown and overall pretty meaningless. Now if only ESPN would stop hyping a below average QB on a decent team.

Tons of open Christians openly dislike him as well
The idea that he’s part of some persecuted majority here is hilarious.
I love when the DBs act all nutty and celebrate
only to turn around and see a flag for PI.
"Hey.....Cubs win!!!" ---Harry
"Cubs win....what a lucky break!!" ---Harry
I agree it is totally hilarious
Then the same people who would go after Tebow would defend the idiots
What a bunch of crap.....many people have enjoyed the man's open belief in Jesus Christ...
And it really bothers the anti-religion crowd…..that is the problem…..
Plain and simple
That's a load of crap.
People don’t want politics and religion from celebrities and athletes. It’s universal and has nothing to do with the specific onerous non-profits that Tebow endorses, nor his overt religiousness. It has everything to do with the general aversion to that kind of stuff in sports.
It’s the same thing as when celebrities get political. People want escapism and unity from their sports, not a reminder of the things we disagree with or dislike about others. It’s the same reason why Al doesn’t allow political and religious discussions here.

This is anti religion......period.....
Its OK when the idiots prance around after a first down….But if he kneels…look out!
DINGDINGDING!
Wreckard is correct.
I have no problem with Tebow believing in whatever he chooses.
But it doesn’t belong in sports.

Hahaha
Yeah, ask Ali and Kareem about that one. People don’t seem to struggle to keep anti-muslim sentiments to themselves these days, that wouldn’t be any different today.
could you imagine if Tebow were a Yankee or Red Sox
they might have dedicated a three hour spot to him without commercials
Q: Why did Theo Epstein cross the road?
A: To Dump Garza
If Tebow were a Yankee or Red Sox
… ESPN would rename itself TSPN (Tebow Sports Progamming Network) and cover him 24/7

You're right we should totally hold athletes in other sports up to the same standard
Bring back Rex Grossman, turns out he was good when compared to Neifi Perez!
athletes in general do
We don’t like them if they are one extreme or the other. Thugs blah, but also people who go to the other extreme can ruffle feathers.

Tebow reminds me of a poodle with one of those fancy, frilly, foo-foo haircuts (furcuts?)...
because every time I see one of those poodles and I start to laugh at it, I remind myself it’s not the poodle’s fault…

My friend who works for ESPN says...
… that their numbers skyrocket whenever they do a piece on him. It is simply a matter of giving the ignorant masses what they want.
Of course, if he were Muslim and were praying…..
I think I speak for everyone here when I say, "Wait, what the hell are you talking about?"
Although a sleep tip
If you are having problems falling asleep @ night turn on ESPN radio, it’s boring enough that it sometimes help you sleep

The only reason I ever watched SportsCenter was for the highlights.
Now that you can find all that stuff online, the show is pointless to me.
DUMP GARZA. CORRECT THE COSMIC WRONG.
