The Return Of The 41-Man Roster
With the signing of Kerry Wood, the Cubs' 40-man roster stands at ... 41.
(Someone will have to be let go before Wood is officially added.)

whats the usual time frame?
can the cubs just sit on wood’s contract until they have it all settled?
So i you can give you can take it.
Here's the scoop.
Wood has “agreed to terms”. Technically, that means he’s not officially on the roster yet — that phrase is generally used by teams before official paperwork is signed and submitted to MLB.
Someone added him to the 40-man roster on the website, before an official move was made to take another player off.
It should happen soon. I can think of a couple guys who could be waived (Marcos Mateo, Alberto Cabrera).

Where did Cabrera come from?
I’ve never heard of this guy, saw him on the roster a few times, doesn’t impress me at all

That guy is an English teacher?
I think that offends me even more than his horsesh— “commentary”.

Consider the Source
Tim Baffoe attended the University of Iowa and Governors State University and began blogging at The Score after winning the 2011 Pepsi Max Score Search.
I might consider his opinion as valid if 1) he was not associated to sports talk radio, or 2) It was Coke, not Pepsi.

I think it was this guy ranting about the Kerry Wood signing last night on the Score
Talking about being a terrible signing and out of Theo’s usual way of doing business.
But he was speaking in such an incoherent way that even I, a student barely getting through first year English courses in college, had serious questions regarding his faulty rhetoric. He seriously epitomized the word “rant”

You had to start it, didn't ya?...
…I wish I’d have thought this part up…classic…
You were going nuts for an average at best middle reliever who flexed his "Cub fans will be angry if I’m not on the team in 2012" muscle to get Theo Epstein to sign him while Epstein is trying to tear down the old Cubs—that you for some reason celebrate—and build a champion. "Oh my God! It’s Kerry Wood! He struck out 20 Astros fourteen years ago and hit a homerun in a playoff game that we lost! I’m gonna go get his autograph and then huff some cleaning products!"

I mean, I would have been fine with it if he had worded it better
At least you make the effort to rationalize why Woody shouldn’t be on the team, and in compete sentences without screaming at the top of your lungs. I may disagree with your view, but at least you’re not hurting my brain. Haha.

Start what?
You apparently think signing Kerry Wood is an unmitigated disaster. So does Buffoe.
Given that your description of classic would be described by most rational humans as misguided or hyberbolic (at best)… connecting you two seems like a pretty logical connection to me.

I'm in your head...
…that’s not healthy. Voices, too? Hope everything works out for ya. Chin up, lil’ buck-a-roo.
Whatever skippy.
You’re “in my head” because I, along with basically every other regular visitor to this site, recognize you have an extremely toxic hatred for Kerry Wood?
OK…. if you say so.

Skippy? Cute
For the last time…I do NOT hate Kerry Wood. I don’t even know the dude. From what I hear he’s a decent guy. I’m not 100% sure on that, because I don’t know him, but I’ll give him the benefit of the doubt.
He’s a Cub. I can’t change that. Do I like the fact he’s a Cubs’ pitcher? No. Will I boo him or hope he fails? No. Do I want him to get hurt and go on the DL? No. Will I say “I told ya so” when he does? Stay tuned for that.
Wood must've snubbed him for an autograph.
I don’t want to play golf. When I hit a ball, I want someone else to go chase it.

Two hours and not a peep from Jessica.
She must be picketing MLB headquarters to get this stopped.

If a player is placed on waivers,
he isn’t taken off the 40-Man for that. It happens very routinely.
If he clears waivers, he may be sent to the minors or released. With KWood signing on Friday, teams have 3 weekdays to claim ‘whoever’. As I’m not sure if Monday counts (ML King Day), we should know by Wednesday or Thursday.
10-25-2011. Theo Epstein joins the Cubs. Now, the fun begins.
Yes, but usually, isn't that waiver announced?

It won't be announced
when Soriano gets put on waivers after the deadline. Regardlees the team that does it.

Marcos Mateo!
I have an unhealthy amount of irrational dislike for that guy. A fair amount of rational dislike too.

I'm with you on both the rational and irrational dislike.
I’m sure he’s a real nice fellow. I just don’t want him on the Cubs any more.

Um been working on my new film
The one currently available for illegal download from multiple sites linked by google and other search engines etc which a small company has no resources to even challenge.
As for the roster it is at 40 and Wood has not been added so what is the fuss?

Look at the roster!
Wood is listed! Oh, the humanity!

He's also on the injury list.
Did he ever have that surgery on his knee? I remember he was supposed to right at the end of the season, but never heard.

As far as I know, he did have it and should be ready for spring training.

I figured he did.
Weird that the Cub’s site isn’t more up to date on it.

where do you live?
PS the earlier film I mentioned (from Italy) that youtube simply links to bit torrent site ( the owner can not stop them but of course it would be terrible if they were not allowed to link to the pirate site) will in fact not be released in the US. The irony is that will studios get all the press it is foreign and independent films that get hardest hit by piracy as they don’t have the resources or the margins to fight it or overcome it.

Chicago area.
And that Italian movie should try and make it so folks in the US can see it, so that people have the opportunity to pay them to see their film.
DUMP GARZA. CORRECT THE COSMIC WRONG.
