Yeah

Bruce is easily the best live act I’ve seen.

Have seen Springsteen live six times.

I know many have seen him more, but I’ll go see him any time I can.

It won’t quite be the same without Clarence Clemons.

you said it...I'd miss Clarence too,

I think E Street needs a sax player….wonder if they have one?

Yeah, I agree Al

Will be interesting to see how the band pay tribute to the Big Man. I’m thinking Jungleland with a recorded solo and a montage of him playing on a big screen, or as others have suggested, a lone saxophone sitting upright on stage with a spotlight on it.

how would they do any of their songs without him tho?

The early rumor is....

…..that Bruce will employ a horn section instead. Heard this on “The Mighty Manfred” show on Little Steven’s Underground Garage/Sirius radio.

by roost66 on Jan 19, 2012 6:54 PM CST up reply actions

That makes some sense

… though the songs wouldn’t sound the same without a saxophone.

I like the idea of the lone sax on stage with a spotlight.

The Boss' thinking may be....

…..that no one sax player can replace the Big Man. Just a guess.

Too true

by AussieCub on Jan 19, 2012 10:34 PM CST up reply actions

Seriously

no one can replace the aura but Clarence’s playing has become less and less an integral part of the sound in recent years. In concert, he had been less and less as time has gone on.

By the way, if people haven’t seen much on the new release it is going to be very political and topical with songs such as “This Depression.”

That would be fun to see, wouldn't it?

Hopefully, he’ll be doing it on the basepaths that weekend. Cubs are in Pittsburgh.

No extra tour dates were announced — Springsteen with the E Street Band has concerts scheduled in Europe through July — but a source within the Chicago Cubs told the Sun-Times late Wednesday that the Boss is tentatively scheduled to perform at Wrigley Field in September.

Anyone wanna bet that CK was the “source within the Chicago Cubs”?

season tickets holders

Are there any perks to being a season ticket holder for these concerts in the summer? And another concert was just announced this morning, so if the boss rumors are true there will be three concerts at Wrigley this summer. Has that happened yet? Maybe it has, but I’m surprised there are so many, this has to be it, right?

by dcox38 on Jan 20, 2012 8:36 AM CST reply actions

Generally

… STH are given a presale for concert tickets.

This will be the first time there will be two separate dates for concerts in one season — a pair in June, then another in September.
