Via Enrique Rojas of ESPN Deportes. "Dominican police arrests Fausta Carmona for double identity. His real name is Roberto Hernandez Heredia."

Looks like another Leo Nunez!

Y'know, I always thought...

…“Fausto Carmona” was way too cool of a name to be real.

Maybe Cleveland would have interest in Dempster

and it would be close enough to Chicago that his family could stay here.

The Marlins just re-signed the former Leo Nunez

… who is now Juan Carlos Oviedo.

So I don’t think this will have any impact at all, in the end.

Yeah, except what is Fausto's contract situation?

I know like three years ago he had a huge season. Did he get a massive payday out of it? If the Indians feel like they are overpaying for him, they could use this as a reason to cut him loose and not pay him.

For some fans, Kerry Wood is that dollap of pumpkin paste.

Carmona's deal

… includes a $7m club option for this year (which I presume they exercised) and a $9m club option for next year.

Not so massive.

Now THAT could be a more troublesome issue.

That makes no sense.

Why would you make yourself seem older than you actually are? Normally, it’s the other way around.

You may want to read those numbers again...

He SAID he was 28. He is ACTUALLY 31. He said he was 3 years younger than he actually is.

I would like to claim the name Fausto Carmona for myself

Is he any relation to Felix Heredia?

That might explain his ERA for the past few seasons.

by toppsmike on Jan 19, 2012 9:58 PM CST reply actions

Amazing fun fact.

Felix Heredia is only six months older than Rodrigo Lopez.
